Designed by the award-winning architect Kevin Roche, its most striking feature is a 55-metre high tilted glass cylinder that offers spectacular panoramic views across Dublin Bay and the city skyline. The venue is also the world’s first carbon-neutral international convention centre. It features the magnificent 2,000-seat Auditorium, 4,500 square metres of exhibition space, and 22 multi-functional meeting rooms, hosting everything from prestigious global summits and comic-con events to televised awards ceremonies.
Accessibility
The CCD was designed to exceed international accessibility standards:
Physical Access: The building is fully step-free with automatic doors at the main entrance. All 22 meeting rooms, halls, and the auditorium are accessible via six passenger lifts.
Auditorium Access: The main Auditorium has dedicated wheelchair spaces on levels 3, 4, and 5. These should be requested through your event organiser.
Hearing Support: A Sennheiser infrared hearing system is available in most of the major meeting rooms and the main Auditorium. Patrons can request headsets or neck loops at the main reception desk.
Toilets: Fully accessible toilets are located on every floor of the building and are equipped with emergency alarms.
Assistance Animals: Certified assistance dogs are welcome throughout the venue.
Car Parking
The CCD is located in the Spencer Dock area of Dublin’s North Wall Quay and has its own underground parking:
CCD Underground Car Park: Operated by Euro Car Parks, this facility has 320 spaces and is located directly underneath the venue. It is open from 7:00 am to midnight daily.
Accessible Parking: There are 8 designated disabled parking spaces within the underground car park. These are located close to the lift lobby for easy access to all floors.
Public Transport: The venue is exceptionally well-served by public transport; the Luas Red Line (Spencer Dock stop) is directly behind the building, and it is a short walk from major bus routes and Connolly Train Station.
Café & Bar
The CCD features integrated hospitality services throughout the building:
Foyer Hospitality: On event days, coffee docks and light refreshment stations are typically available in the foyer and networking areas, serving gourmet coffee, pastries, and snacks.
In-House Catering: The venue is famous for its world-class in-house catering team (CCD Hospitality), which provides everything from working lunches and "grab and go" bags to formal banquets in the Liffey and Wicklow Halls.
Nearby Dining: Located in the heart of the Docklands, the venue is surrounded by numerous restaurants such as The Spencer Hotel, Marks & Spencer Foodhall, and several high-end eateries within the neighboring Point Square and Grand Canal Dock (just across the Samuel Beckett Bridge).
