Limerick’s dance identity centres on the University of Limerick, home since 1994 to the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, one of Ireland’s leading centres for the study of dance, with students from more than forty countries. Classical ballet is also taught in the city, through schools including the Cecchetti-method Limerick School of Classical Ballet and Dance Academy Limerick, established in 1983.
