For Ballet Schools
Parents are searching for your classes right now. What does your listing tell them?
Every week, parents across Ireland search for ballet classes near them. They land on your listing, scan it for the basics — where you are, what ages you take, when classes run — and make a decision in seconds: enquire, or keep scrolling.
A complete listing with class times, age groups, and a way to get in touch turns a search into an enquiry. A vague one turns it into a bounce — and that parent finds another school down the road.
What parents actually look for
When a parent lands on a school listing, they're not evaluating your teaching credentials or your exam pass rate. Not yet. First, they need to answer three questions:
Is it close enough?
Proximity isn't laziness — it's logistics. A parent doing the school run at 3:30 needs to know your 4pm class is reachable. If your listing doesn't show your location clearly, they'll assume it's too far and move on.
Does the timing work?
This is the single biggest factor for parents with multiple children and packed schedules. They're not browsing — they're checking whether Tuesday at 4pm or Saturday at 10am fits the rest of the week. If your class times aren't visible, they can't make that decision — so they don't.
Is this right for my child's age and level?
A parent with a four-year-old who's never danced before needs to know you welcome beginners. A parent with a twelve-year-old preparing for RAD Grade 5 needs to know you offer that. If your listing just says "ballet classes" without specifying age groups or levels, you're invisible to both.
What a strong listing looks like
The schools getting the most enquiries through Ballet.ie have listings that answer those three questions within seconds:
- Full address and location — so parents can see how close you are
- Dance styles and exam boards — so they know what you teach and at what level
- Age groups — so they know you cater for their child (or for adults)
- Contact details — so they can reach you immediately
- Class timetable (upgraded listings) — so they can see exactly when classes run and whether a slot fits their schedule
The timetable is the difference-maker. It's what turns "I should look into this" into "I'm going to message them tonight." Parents don't want to email three schools asking for schedules — they want to see the answer and act.
Is your school already listed?
Your school may already be on Ballet.ie. Over 160 schools across all 32 counties are in the directory — built up from public information so parents can find local classes from day one. If yours is one of them, claiming your listing lets you:
- Update your school's information directly
- Add or correct details — dance styles, age groups, exam boards, contact info
- Ensure parents see accurate, current information when they find you
How to claim your listing
- Search the directory for your school by name, town, or county.
- Open your school's page. If it hasn't been claimed yet, you'll see a "Claim this listing" button — on the right-hand side on desktop, or near the bottom of the page on mobile.
- Register an owner account and we'll verify you're connected to the school. Once approved, you can edit the listing from your dashboard.
Claiming is free and takes a few minutes.
Upgrade for timetable publishing
Upgraded listings include the ability to publish your full class timetable directly on your Ballet.ie profile. Parents can see available days and times without needing to contact you first — which means the enquiries you do receive are from parents who already know your schedule works for them.
These are warmer leads. They're not asking "do you have classes?" — they're asking "can my daughter start in September?"
Timing matters
The biggest intake period for Irish ballet schools is September. Parents start searching in the summer — and increasingly, from late April and May as they plan the school year ahead.
A complete, up-to-date listing now means you're visible when those searches happen. A vague listing — or no listing at all — means those parents find someone else.
Ballet.ie is Ireland's independent ballet directory — 160+ schools across all 32 counties. Listings are free and always will be. The directory is not affiliated with any exam board, school, or dance organisation.
