The enquiries worth your time start before the phone rings

A parent who's already checked what you teach, the ages you take, and whether a class time fits is a very different enquiry to one who hasn't. Ballet.ie is where that checking happens — so the calls and emails you get are from parents you can actually help.

The enquiry that goes nowhere

You know the ones. The email asking whether you take three-year-olds — you don't. The call from a parent in a town forty minutes away. The message about a Saturday slot that's been full since term started. You answer every one, because that's the job — but none of them was ever going to become a student, and each took a few minutes you didn't have, between classes or late at night.

It isn't that those parents did anything wrong. They simply couldn't tell, before they contacted you, whether you were a fit. So they asked. And you answered. And nothing came of it.

The fix isn't fewer parents finding you. It's giving them the answers before they get in touch — so the ones who do are the ones who already know you're right for them.

What every parent is actually deciding

When a parent lands on a school listing, they're not weighing your exam results or your teaching credentials. Not yet. First they need three answers — in this order:

Is it close enough?

Proximity isn't fussiness, it's logistics. A parent doing the school run at 3:30 needs to know your 4pm class is reachable. If your location isn't clear, they assume it's too far and move on.

Does the timing work?

This is the single biggest factor for a parent with more than one child and a packed week. They're not browsing — they're checking whether Tuesday at 4 or Saturday at 10 fits around everything else. If your class times aren't visible, they can't answer it, so they don't ask.

Is it right for my child's age and level?

A parent with a four-year-old who's never danced needs to know you welcome beginners. A parent with a twelve-year-old working toward RAD Grade 5 needs to know you go that far. A listing that just says "ballet classes" is invisible to both.

When your listing answers those three before contact, two good things happen at once. The parents who aren't a fit move on quietly — no call, no email, no minutes spent. And the parents who are a fit reach you already knowing it. Those are the enquiries worth having.

What a free listing does

Your free listing answers the first questions, so the right parents can find you and recognise the fit:

  • Full address and location — so a parent can see how close you are
  • Dance styles and exam boards — so they know what you teach, and to what level
  • Age groups — so they know you take their child (or that you do adults)
  • Contact details — so the ones who are a fit can reach you straight away

Free, and it always will be.

What upgrading adds: your timetable

There's one question a free listing can't answer — is there a slot that actually fits our week? That's the question that turns "I should look into this" into "I'm messaging them tonight," and it's the one parents most often have to email three schools to find out.

An upgraded listing lets you publish your full class timetable on your Ballet.ie profile. A parent can see the days and times for themselves and check the slot before they ever contact you. So the enquiries you get aren't "do you have classes?" — they're from parents who've already seen that your Tuesday-at-4 works.
