About Ballet.ie
We built this because finding ballet classes in Ireland was harder than it should be.
How it started
A four-year-old who wanted to try ballet. A drop-in class that didn't survive because the numbers weren't there. Every other school nearby felt too serious, too far, or too much of a commitment for a child who might change her mind by half-term.
That was the start of Ballet.ie. Not a business plan — a frustration.
The problem is still real
If you're a parent reading this, you probably recognise the situation. Your child has seen something on TV, or watched a friend's recital, or simply announced one morning that they want to do ballet. So you start looking.
What you find is a patchwork. Some schools have websites that haven't been updated in years. Others exist only as Facebook pages with no timetable, no age information, and no way to know if they're still running. A few have nothing online at all — you only hear about them through word of mouth at the school gate.
And even when you find a school, the real questions are harder to answer. Is it close enough to make the school run work? Can you get there from pickup at 3:30 and still make a 4pm class? What about the other kids — are they sitting in the car for forty minutes, or is there a school nearby that offers something for them too? Is a full term's commitment realistic when you're not even sure this will last past week three?
These aren't trivial questions. Proximity and convenience aren't laziness — they're what makes the difference between a child who gets to try ballet and one who doesn't. Especially when you're weighing up whether a novelty becomes a passion, and whether the whole family can sustain the logistics.
Let them try
That's the whole philosophy behind this site.
Not every child who takes a ballet class will become a dancer. Most won't. But every child who wants to try deserves a chance to — and every parent deserves to find the right class without spending an evening deep in Facebook comment threads.
What We Do
We provide a clean, user-friendly platform that allows you to:
- Discover — Find local, vetted dance schools with ease.

Who We Are
Ballet.ie is a fully independent platform proudly built, owned, and operated by S5 Ltd, a digital publishing and media group.
Because we are not affiliated with any single dance school or examining board, we are able to provide a completely neutral, comprehensive, and unbiased look at the Irish dance ecosystem. We succeed when students find their perfect studio, and when studios find their ideal students.
Schools are listed free of charge. The site earns revenue through affiliate partnerships with dancewear retailers and related services, which is clearly disclosed.
