Located in the heart of Dublin’s Silicon Docks (Grand Canal Square), its striking "grand canal" glass-and-steel architecture has made it a modern icon of the city. The venue was specifically designed to accommodate massive "West End" and "Broadway" touring productions that require significant stage depth and fly-tower height, such as The Lion King, Wicked, and Hamilton. It is famous for its plush red seating, world-class acoustics, and for providing a "no-bad-seat-in-the-house" viewing experience.
Accessibility
As one of Ireland’s newest major venues, it is built to the highest accessibility standards:
Physical Access: The theatre features level entry and large lifts that service all floors (Stalls, Circle, and Upper Circle).
Seating: A wide range of dedicated wheelchair and companion spaces are available in the Stalls, Upper Circle, and Selected Boxes. These should be booked through the dedicated Group Bookings and Access Department (+353 1 677 7770).
Hearing Support: Assistive Listening Loop Devices (headsets) are available free of charge from the Box Office and work in all areas of the auditorium.
Visual Impairment: Priority seating is held in the front five rows of the Stalls for patrons with visual impairments.
Assistance Animals: Registered assistance dogs are welcome. The theatre can even provide a "dog sitting" service in a safe area during the show if requested.
Toilets: Accessible toilets are located on every level.
Car Parking
The theatre does not have its own private car park, but it is located directly above a major public facility:
Q-Park Grand Canal Square: This underground car park is located directly beneath the theatre (entrance on Chimney View). It offers secure parking and has lift access directly to the theatre’s main entrance. * Pre-booking: It is highly recommended to pre-book a space at q-park.ie, as it frequently sells out on performance nights.
Accessible Parking: There are designated disabled parking spaces within the Q-Park facility.
Set Down: A dedicated drop-off point is available on Misery Hill, directly outside the theatre entrance.
Café & Bar
In-Theatre Kiosks: There are four kiosks throughout the theatre foyer serving tea, coffee, confectionery, and popcorn.
Bars: Fully licensed bars are located on every floor of the theatre, offering a wide range of alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, and themed cocktails related to the current production.
The Circle Club: This is an exclusive private members' club within the theatre that features its own restaurant (The Terrace) for fine dining before or after a show.
Nearby Dining: Grand Canal Square is a culinary hub; the theatre is surrounded by high-end restaurants such as The Marker Hotel, Milano, and Nutbutter, most of which offer dedicated "Pre-Theatre" menus.
