Step Up Dance Project 2027: Auditions for Early-Career Dancers
Overview
Step Up Dance Project is a paid professional development programme for early-career dancers, run by Dance Limerick with the Arts Council of Ireland, the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick and Dance Ireland. The 2027 edition is choosing five dancers.
The dancers work on a performance project with choreographer Amir Sabra, performing in locations around the country including Limerick and Dublin. The programme is curated by Dance Limerick director Mary Wycherley, with rehearsal director Lucia Kickham. Each dancer receives a weekly fee of €650 plus accommodation and must be available exclusively for the programme.
Applications close Friday 4 December 2026 at 12pm. Email a CV, a personal statement and a link to a one-minute improvisation video to stepupdanceproject@gmail.com. Auditions follow at DanceHouse, Dublin, on Monday 11 January 2027.
Who it's for
Dancers who are Irish citizens or resident in Ireland and graduated in 2024 or later, or whose professional career started in 2024 or later through another training route. Dancers graduating in 2026 are not eligible. Past Step Up dancers who meet the criteria can apply again.
