About this production
Twelve future principals — drawn from the Royal Ballet School, the Paris Opera, La Scala and ABT JKO — share one Dublin stage for a single 8pm performance on Monday 13 July.
Balletto di Venezia brings the third edition of Stars of Tomorrow to Dublin — Artistic Director Alessio Carbone's annual showcase of the most promising graduates of the world's leading ballet academies. For one evening only, twelve dancers aged 17 to 19 take the stage at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
The cast is drawn from the Royal Ballet School (London), the École de Danse de l'Opéra National de Paris, the Accademia Teatro alla Scala (Milan), American Ballet Theatre's Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School (New York), the Royal Swedish Ballet School (Stockholm), the Académie Princesse Grace (Monte Carlo), the Royal Danish Ballet School (Copenhagen), and the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna) — the same academies that supply the principals of the world's leading companies.
Carbone has built a ninety-minute programme of classical repertoire — pas de deux, solos, and ensemble work — designed to show each dancer at full stretch. Stars of Tomorrow tours Italy through July and August, with Dublin its only Irish date.
