About this production
A powerhouse triple-bill from Ireland's national ballet company.
This April, experience a thrilling mix of world-class choreography and daring movement at the O'Reilly Theatre. Featuring the Olivier-nominated, "hilarious and weird" A Dream Within a Midsummer Night's Dream by Arthur Pita, alongside a haunting world premiere inspired by King Lear, and a poetic new work by rising Irish talent Ruaidhrí Maguire. This is Ballet Ireland at its most theatrical, athletic, and bold.
A Thrilling Triple-Bill of Imagination and Daring
This April, Ballet Ireland electrifies the O'Reilly Theatre with Bold Moves: Dare to Dream. This high-impact programme features three distinct works that challenge the boundaries of classical ballet, blending sharp storytelling with bold physicality.
The Programme Includes:
A Dream Within a Midsummer Night's Dream (Arthur Pita): Originally created for Ballet Black, this Olivier-nominated work is a "rollercoaster of weirdness." Set to an eclectic soundtrack featuring Eartha Kitt and Barbra Streisand, it turns Shakespeare's comedy upside down.
Storm Scene (World Premiere - Arthur Pita): Inspired by the psychological and literal storms of Shakespeare’s King Lear, this new commission explores transformation and catharsis through atmospheric design and raw emotion.
Linear Flux (World Premiere - Ruaidhrí Maguire): A poetic new work by rising Irish choreographer Ruaidhrí Maguire. Set to Peter Gregson’s evocative score, it traces the "lifelines" of dancers as they collide and intertwine.
