Wexford School of Ballet & Performing Arts

Wexford School of Ballet & Performing Arts (WSBPA) is a centre of excellence in dance education, established in 1965. Under the direction of Suzanne O’Leary (RAD, DIP, DEG, AISTD), the school provides a comprehensive training pipeline from Baby Ballerinas to professional Vocational levels. Based at the state-of-the-art Studio 12 in Westpoint Business Park, WSBPA is the leading destination for RAD and ISTD dance training in County Wexford.

Transition Year Associate Dance Programme

WSBPA runs a Transition Year Associate Dance Programme for TY students from any school. It suits students considering a future in performance or dance teaching, and equally those who simply love dance, performing and musical theatre. No previous dance training is required. Past intakes have come from Loreto, Presentation, St. Peter’s College and schools in Waterford, along with international and exchange students.

• 2026/27 dates: Term 1 runs 29 September to 26 November 2026. Term 2 runs 19 January to 18 March 2027.

• Schedule: two one-hour classes a week.

• Cost: €160 per term, or €320 for both terms. Payment for Term 1 secures a place. Both terms are needed to take part in the end-of-year showcase.

• Curriculum: ballet, modern, tap, contemporary, acro, choreography and improvisation, audition technique, body conditioning and Progressing Ballet Technique, plus dance history, basic anatomy and kinesiology, stagecraft, singing and performance, and costume design.

• Also included: an end-of-year showcase in a professional theatre, optional teacher assistant training with the younger RAD ballet classes, and studio time for independent practice.

Pre-Vocational & Career Coaching

Senior students receive dedicated coaching for RAD Vocational Examinations (Intermediate Foundation through Advanced 2) and professional audition preparation, supported by the school’s focus on technical mastery and career guidance.

Performance & Youth Companies

Students benefit from professional-standard performance opportunities.

We provide graded RAD Ballet, ISTD Modern Theatre, Tap, and Acro Dance at three convenient hubs:
