About Turning Pointe School of Ballet
Turning Pointe School of Ballet teaches classical ballet at four venues across north Tipperary and Offaly: Gaelscoil Aonach Urmhumhan in Nenagh, Crinkill National School in Birr, the Church of Ireland hall in Borrisokane, and Ballina National School, which is across the bridge from Killaloe. Sophia Bailey founded the school in Borrisokane in 2005 and still directs it.
Classes run from pre-ballet for the youngest children up to RAD vocational level. Students can sit Irish Board of Dance Performance examinations at all levels and Royal Academy of Dance graded and vocational examinations, with RAD vocational entry by invitation.
The school runs one adult class, in Borrisokane. It is an advanced class for people who have danced before, not a beginners' class.
