TheatreBox Stage School & Dance Academy

TheatreBox Stage School & Dance Academy teaches classical ballet at The Arts Complex on the Dunmore Road in Waterford, at Passage Cross. The centre is purpose-built and shared with WAMA and the Live Room Theatre: three dance studios, fifteen classrooms, a 160-seat theatre and a car park at the front door.

Ballet here is classical, taught on traditional technique and vocabulary. It runs alongside tap, contemporary, musical theatre, intensive dance, singing and creative drama, so a student can take ballet on its own or add other classes to it. Staff teach tots through adults and beginner through advanced. Graded examinations are available to students who want to sit them.

Students perform at festivals and events through the year and work towards an end-of-year show at the Theatre Royal. Easter and summer camps are run as a way to sample the different courses before committing to one.
