About Dance Associate
Dance Associate is a performing arts organisation based on Mill Street in Newry, working with students of all ages, levels and backgrounds, with a stated emphasis on inclusion, diversity, equity and access.
Academy classes follow a year-long syllabus running from the start of the autumn term to the end of the summer session, across four terms of roughly nine weeks each, with weekly summer camps from July into early August. Teaching focuses on posture, placement, discipline, coordination, strength, flexibility and musicality, for beginners and aspiring professionals alike.
Dance Associate also delivers accredited Pearson BTEC qualifications: the Level 1/2 Tech Award in Performing Arts with a dance approach at Key Stage 4, and Level 2 and Level 3 performing arts and dance qualifications for 16 to 18 year olds. Students on these courses train in contemporary, commercial, jazz, musical theatre, ballet, tap and community dance.
