About Cork Youth Ballet Company
Cork Youth Ballet Company is the city's only independently run youth dance company, founded in 2015 by Sinéad Murphy and based at the Firkin Crane in Shandon. It takes dancers from any school, not only its own.
Members train as a company rather than as a class, working with current and former professional dancers and with the Artistic Director and Ballet Mistress of Cork City Ballet. The company creates and performs new work each season, which gives young dancers stage experience in a style that is often outside their home training.
The company is in its eleventh year and recruits for each new season by audition.
