About Amber Gordon School of Dance
Amber Gordon School of Dance teaches RAD ballet, ISTD modern and tap, musical theatre, contemporary and acro in Hillsborough, Co. Down, close to Lisburn. Classes run from pre-school dancers through to advanced students, with both exam and non-syllabus classes.
Ballet follows the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, from Pre-Primary through the graded exams and on to the vocational grades, which include pointe work. Modern and tap follow the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) syllabus, and the school also teaches RAD musical theatre grades. Students sit exams once they reach the required standard, but exams are not compulsory.
The school opened in 2002. Students perform in a summer show at the Island Hall, Lisburn, and take part in dance competitions, workshops and trips, including performances on the main stage at Disneyland Paris in 2019 and 2023.
