Overview

The AD Development Programme is six training days across six months, run by the Aaron Dwyer Company at Beats Studios in Bangor. It is not a drop-in class or a monthly workshop: dancers apply with a video, are selected, and commit to all six Sundays.

Each session runs from 10am to 3pm and is led by a guest teacher from the professional industry, so the genres change month to month. The faculty is broad rather than classical, but it includes Bridget Green, who teaches ballet, tap and modern, alongside teachers in commercial, jazz, hip hop, heels and musical theatre.

It is built to sit alongside a dancer’s regular training rather than replace it. The company is explicit that it wants dancers who respond to correction and can attend every session, which is worth taking at face value before applying.

Who it's for

Dancers who already train regularly at a school and want structured coaching on top of it. Entry is by application with a video, so it is selective rather than first come. Anyone who cannot make all six Sundays should think twice: the programme is built as a sequence, not as six separate days.

What's included

  • Six training days, one a month from September to February.

  • A different guest teacher from the professional industry each month.

  • Five hours of training per session.

Schedule

Six Sundays, 10am to 3pm: 6 September, 4 October, 29 November and 13 December 2026, then 10 January and 7 February 2027.
